Where I Stand On The

Issues

Focused on the issues that matter to District 23

  • ENVIRONMENT

    • Increase quality of air and drinking water
    • Decrease pollutants from corporations, especially from Data Centers
      • On the topic of Data Centers, and the rising costs of energy, we should require all Data Centers to install a minimum amount of solar panels so that they are generating as much of their own electricity as possible, and not passing those costs on to residents.
    • Transition electrical grid reliability from fossil fuels to solar and wind
      • Did you know that, on average, 93% of all Delaware energy comes from burning natural gas? That means that the majority of all the energy that powers electric vehicles is powered by burning gas anyways. We must start building the infrastructure in Delaware to change that reality immediately.
      • Why is “Balcony Solar” not legal in Delaware? Let’s change that.
    • We have a massive green energy deficit in Delaware that must be addressed.
    • We live in an climate change era, it is likely to get worse–the impacts from global warming and extreme weather events must be planned for.
  • EQUAL RIGHTS

    • Preserve voting rights
    • Reproductive rights are human rights
    • To fight for fair wages for all, and also fight for a wealth tax
    • Support the LGBTQIA+ community
    • Safeguard immigrants
  • SMALL BUSINESS

    • Strong and prevalent small businesses directly impact:
      • Consumer choice
      • Affordability
      • More and better paying jobs
      • Innovation
      • Representation of our diverse community of people and voices
    • Let’s make it easier to start and operate small businesses in the state of Delaware!
  • LIFE AND LIVELIHOODS

    • Increase healthcare access and availability, while simultaneously lowering those costs
    • Our public education system must meet the needs of our state’s children
    • Affordable housing prioritization could arrive in new ways:
      • We could develop a “property guardianship” system, where vacant office space and vacant business spaces can be utilized as short term rental housing at reduced prices.  The property owners would not directly get income from these arrangements.  Instead part of that money would be used for property/building maintenance/upgrades, and a portion of that money would also go to the local municipality.  It would be a holistic solution to a systemic problem.
